Azithromycin is a macrolide antibiotic.
Azithromycin inhibits the synthesis of proteins in bacteria and germs, which limits their growth and reproduction. It is a widely used antibiotic.
Dosage and method of use:
Tablets: one tablet once a day orally, every 24 hours.
Syrup: 5 ml every 24 hours, or as prescribed by the doctor, according to the child’s weight.
Indications:
Otitis media, pharyngitis.
Tonsillitis.
Upper respiratory infection such as:
Bronchial infections.
Rhinitis.
Pharyngitis and others.
Infection of the skin and its parts.
Some types of pneumonia.
Inflammatory pelvic disease.
Urethritis, sexually transmitted.
Sexually transmitted cervicitis.
Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Acute bacterial sinusitis.
In some cases, it may be used as an alternative to penicillin, for patients with penicillin allergy.
